Dr Emanuele Brugnoli

Sony CSL - Rome

Emanuele Brugnoli is presently associate researcher in the Infosphere team of Sony CSL Rome. Always fascinated by the tools mathematics provides to describe and understand complex problems in an extraordinarily simple and elegant way, he devoted his PhD in mathematics and computer science (University of Perugia, 2016) to the study of closed-form solutions to enumeration problems on graphs. Since then he worked as a researcher first at the University of Palermo, then at the Institute for Complex Systems (ISC-CNR), at the Italian Communications Authority (AGCOM), and more recently at Enrico Fermi Study and Research Centre (CREF). His research activities focus on graphs as geometric structures representing large-scale data domains. In particular, to characterize the dynamics of online communication and opinion formation, and to create tools that can help people navigate through the complex media landscape.
