Full-time lecturer (M/F/X) in the Department of Mathematics of the Faculty of Science

The Department of Mathematics of the Faculty of Sciences is hiring two full-time lecturers starting on September 1, 2026, within the University of Namur in Belgium. The position is initially offered for a three-term year, leading to a permanent position following a positive evaluation. On the one side, the successfull candidate will teach about 160 hours per year at both bacheor’s and master’s levels. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to offer more specialized teaching related to his or her field of research, and is expected to teach in French by the end of the probationary period. On the other side, they will conduct research within the Namur Institute of Complex Systems (naXys), preferably on statistical learning, theory and methodological development in machine learning, computational mathematics, mathematical modeling, heuristic optimization, nonlinear problems, stochastic processes and networks. The position also involves supervising theses, participating in university service and outreach and building international collaborations.
