The Complexity72h is an interdisciplinary workshop for young researchers in complex systems. Participants form teams and carry out projects in a three days’ time, i.e. 72 hours. The goal of each team is to upload on the arXiv (or similar repositories) a report of their work by the end of the event

Tall or short, young or old, Python coder or R enthusiast — we don’t care.
What matters is curiosity, motivation, and a desire to collaborate and create.

We are now inviting applications for Tutors for the upcoming Complexity72h 2026 workshop in London — a unique, intense, and unforgettable research experience.
We encourage project submissions with more than one tutor. Please fill only oneapplication per project.
What we are looking forWe seek project proposals from experienced researchers willing to lead a smallinterdisciplinary team (6–8 participants) in developing a research idea over 72 hours. At this stage, your proposal doesn’t need to be overly detailed, but it should:
• Clearly outline your research question or objective
• Specify the data you plan to use (you will be responsible for providing it)
• Indicate the skills or background your ideal team members might have
Selection processThe selection process will happen in two steps.
1) One round of selection will happen at the end of the call for projects (early January2026). If your project is selected, your abstract will be published online for theparticipants to choose — you’ll have a chance to revise it beforehand.
2) Final acceptance will happen at the end of the call for participants (March 2026) and will depend on the number of participants selecting each project.
Registration fee
The registration fee for each tutor will be a maximum 700 EUR, and it includesaccommodation for five nights in a single room at Chapter Spitalfields. The amountmay be lower, depending on the funding that we secure in the coming months. We willcommunicate the final amount at round 1 of selection.
