OSoMe PostDoc Wanted

We are looking for a postdoctoral fellow to join the Observatory on Social Media (OSoMe, pronounced awe•some) at Indiana University Bloomington (IUB) under the direction of Filippo Menczer. The research will address the intersection of computing, network, data, and media sciences with a focus on (mis/dis)information diffusion and the detection and countering of online manipulation.

The Fellow will be expected to maintain an active research profile; to conduct independent research on significant projects; to present work in progress at professional conferences and sponsored workshops; and to assist with the development of funding proposals and scientific papers.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a Ph.D. prior to employment, ideally within the last 6 years, in computing, informatics, media studies, or comparable area of research. A solid record of publications or conferences, as well as strong coding and data analytics skills are a must. Preference will be given to interdisciplinary candidates whose research profile clearlylinks them to the Observatory. Good communication and writing abilities are highly desirable.

How to Apply

Applications should be submitted by July 1, 2020 to ensure full consideration, but will continue to be considered until the position is filled. Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, CV, brief research statement (2 pages max), and contact information for three references.
