Human Mobility and Networks Laboratory
Instant information and social media are game changers for future urban applications. We investigate the interplay of mobility and social dynamics. Social ties move similarly. We have uncovered fascinating networks properties within cities We extract daily mobility pattern from mobile phone data, compare it with survey data, and identify of unique “motifs” that allow to model Urban Trips. We extract Origin–Destinations at urban scale based on mobile phone data. Congested roads can be connected to their driver sources (where the users live). The major usage of a road segment can be linked to surprisingly few driver sources. A new classification of roads for mobility analysis of road systems.
