Bid for the organisation of CCS2020

Since 2004, the Conference on Complex Systems organized by the CSS, is the most important annual meeting for the complex systems research community.

Until 2014, it was the European Conference on Complex Systems. In 2015, it became CCS with its first "global" edition CCS2015 in the USA. CCS2016 has taken place in Amsterdam, Netherlands, from Sept. 19 to 22, 2016. The conference chair was Peter Sloot. In 2017, CCS2017 was organized in Cancun, Mexico, by Carlos Gershenson and Jose Mateos. In 2018, CCS2018 is organized in Thessaloniki, Greece, by Panos Argyrakis.

The Complex Systems Society invites bids to host CCS2020. Interested potential organizers should send a short document (4-5 pages max.) detailing the proposal to the chair of the CCS steering committee (zapperi (at) gmail (dot) com) or to the officers of the CSS (yamir (dot) moreno (at) gmail (dot) com ; alain (dot) barrat (at) gmail (dot) com ; guido (dot) caldarelli (at) gmail (dot) com).

Note that organizers have to be scientists working in complex systems. No bids sent by companies will be accepted.

The document should follow the attached template and contain some basic information about the venue (location, max number of participant in plenary sessions, number and size of rooms for parallel sessions, some idea on the hotel arrangements), a preliminary list for the local organizing committee, some information about the budget, etc.

Deadline for submission of applications: Nov. 30th, 2018

The CCS steering committee, elected among the members of the Complex Systems Society, is responsible for the development and support of the CCS conference series and will decide among the bids.
